ANTIQUE JEWELS

From my passion and personal research for tribal and ancient jewels..
as due contrasts or essential objects.

KATHILA EARRINGS

Kathila earrings are ordered by Mapilla Muslim women, but made only by Hindu artisans, who take over a month to do the work. The fine filigree decorations are meticulously welded according to a standardized pattern. High carat gold.
Trissur District in Kerala, India. Early XXth century. Cm 5 x 3,5

THANDATTI EARRINGS

Thandatti earrings in a cubistic form that can be interpreted as a three-dimensional mandala. They look like a contemporary sculpture, that’s why I love some tribal jewelry.
Gold-filled with lac. Southern District, Tamil Nadu, India.
Early XX century. Cm 7 x 4
